Rimmel Lipstick Swatches

By syila slakers · December 10, 2009 · 0 Comments ·

To date, there's 4 Rimmel lippies in my Beauty Drawer. Two each from their Moisture Renew and Lasting Finish range.

In this post as stated in titles, there'll be swatches on those lippies and i'm doing a review about it as well.

Here are the swatches on the underside of my wrist (the non-hairy part but slightly fairer skin tone). I like how the colours turn out both without and with flash. The pictures shown here are as close as I can get to their actual colours.

Moisture Renew Lipstick

What it claims:

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick, infusion lip colour from Rimmel London. Beautiful colour starts with well-conditioned lips, Moisture Renew Lipstick is formulated with three superpower moisturisers – polypeptides, hyaluronic acid and natural collagen that deeply hydrate lips and improves their condition instantly and over time.

Ultimate Colour Indulgence with SPF 20 Protection. Caring colour complex of vitamin A, C & E, anti-oxidants and SPF 20 protects lips from everyday damage.

My Review:

I have to agree that the lipsticks from this range are moisturising. They glide very smoothly, very creamy and doesnt make my lips dry. It leaves a nice texture on my lips. The smell of the lipstick may be empowering to some. It has this flowery smell like jasmine but goes away after application. As for the colour, pigmentation is good but doesn't stay for hours. I'm OK with that since I don't mind the hassle of touching up. Furthermore, its cheap-affordable..what do you expect for staying power?

♦ Nude Delight

When i saw this nude colour on the Rimmel shelf, I have to get it. It is a peachy nude colour that's warm toned. Very wearable especially with the smokey eyes look. I love how the colour turns out on my lips. Doesn't wash me out or make me look pale eventhough its close to skin colour. Its totally werable, for me. I would recommend Nude Delight for girls who loves Nude.

♦ Dreamy

A salmon pink tone that is still within the nude category in my books. This lipstick gives a frosted shimmery finish with silver flecks. The colour nearly matches my natural lip colour. It just give me that bit of frostiness.

Lasting Finish Lipstick

What it claims:

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick promises vibrant, high-shine colour that lasts for up to seven hours. Combines a very high level of colour pigments with wear-enhancing, high-shine polymers to ensure locked-in colour with ultra shine. The creamy texture incorporates natural moisturising oils and emollients and antioxidant vitamins C and E, resulting in supple, comfortable wear.

My Review:

Last for up to seven hours? Let me check that. Nope! It doesn't. But again, I'm OK with that. The colours for this range are intense and pigmented. They are moisturising as well and doesn't give that dry feeling on the lips. I like the smell of this range, it smells like strawberry-cream chupa chupps.

♦ Rich Raisin

A coral red lipstick with a hint of dark orangey tone, to put the colour of this lipstick in words. It is not that bold red, the alarming "look at me" red that I'll never wear. This colour is what my mom would wear. So it will be of no problem if somehow one day I decide not to like it. As for now, I'm braving myself for it's kinda bold, not nude, colours on the lips.

♦ Airy Fairy

The 'oh-so-famous-totally-raved-about' lip colour among all of Rimmel's lipstick. Everyone would love to have their lips with this, including me. I love the lipstick, be it alone or layering with gloss. In my opinion the colour will look pale on dark skin tone as it's more to the lighter side of pink, mauve pink. But if you can ROCK IT! why not?
As a safe guideline, the colour will look pretty if your skin ranges from fair (yellowish fair, not white fair) to golden tanned (not toasted), if you know what I mean. I shall not type too much about this lipstick, if not, I feel like I'm repeating what others have reviewed about it.

I L..V.E Rimmel's range of lipstick. The new affordable range that I will definitely purchase without second thoughts as long as I'm attracted to the colour. It's cheap! especially across the causeway, where I got mine. *giggles*
You girls should venture across and get those colours that are not offered here, in our home (Singapore). The nearest location, Johor City Square..not Serangoon City Square. Don't be confused.

Ladies, which colour do you like? Comment below.

Just a short interesting note - i'm giving away Rimmel's Airy Fairy as a giveaway in my online shop. So, check that out! if you are interested.
